Kyle Anderson, Winnipeg Goldeyes
Kyle Anderson pitched the 4-1 win as the Goldeyes swept their series with Amarillo, July 31. Reggie Abercrombie and Adam Heisler were the suspects in a post-game ambush during Anderson's TV interview. Bonus photos: Thunderheads' Christian Ibarra reaches for the ball at third; Goldeyes' Josh Mazzola practises some full moon levitation. Photos by Dan LeMoal.

Savouring the taste of victory
With our Bacon Day pride on the line, some fine pitching by Matt Jackson helped the Goldeyes to deliver a 4-1 win over the Amarillo Thunderheads. Newcomer Tillman Pugh continues to impress as well at the plate and in the outfield (shots taken July 30, Shaw Park, Winnipeg).

Digital Gum Wave 1: Winnipeg Goldeyes
Inspired by the 1981 Topps MLB cards, I decided to try my hand at a retro bubblegum card set for the American Association teams. First up is the Winnipeg Goldeyes, still a few more Fish to come. For players who have been traded, I'm using the old "Now with _____" notation. I seem to remember this notation style more on the Topps/O-Pee-Chee hockey cards than baseball, but memory is a tricky thing...enjoy!
Casey Haerther, Winnipeg Goldeyes
The versatile Haerther, who normally plays 1B, is pictured here at 3B. He also pitches on occasion, usually when the Goldeyes are being shelled--although his ERA is a respectable 0.00 in three trips to the mound this season!
The four plate shots are in glorious "Stopamatic Motion" -- just click on the first shot and use your arrow keys to create your own Haerther-vision motion picture! (File photos by Dan LeMoal)

Nick Hernandez, Winnipeg Goldeyes
Congrats to Goldeyes' hurler Nick Hernandez, who pitched a complete game shutout against Gary on July 18. Final Score, Goldeyes 10, Railcats 0. File photo taken July 12, Shaw Park, by Dan LeMoal.
J.D. Pulfer, Gary Southshore Railcats
All shots from July 16, Shaw Park, Winnipeg. First shot is J.D. Pulfer's three-run homer hit. It was a big night for Gary who hit 28 times at the plate, 23 singles. That ties an American Association record for hits by one team in a game. Final score: Gary 14, Goldeyes 7. Photos by Dan LeMoal.
