Majors come calling for more American Association talent

Major league baseball has picked up several more American Association talents in recent weeks, the most recent being the Toronto Blue Jays acquisition of Kansas City T-Bones RHP Bobby Doran. This comes in the same week that the Goldeyes sold the contract of recently acquired RHP Nestor Molina to the San Francisco Giants. While the focus is usually on pitchers, it should be noted that the Lincoln AirHogs sold the contract of OF Dexter Kjerstad to the Miami Marlins last month. DiFazio, Tenbrink re-signed

A couple of marquee names have been re-signed for 2016 in the AA: the St. Paul Saints secured the services of All-Star and Player of the Year Vinny DiFazio for another year, while the Kansas City T-Bones have re-signed Nate Tenbrink. Both players put up big numbers for their respective clubs so that's welcome news for fans.

Tenbrink, Sergey are American Association's Player and Pitcher of the Week

A .560 avg. at the plate earns Kansas City T-Bones Nate Tenbrink American Association Pointstreak Player of the Week honours, Aug. 24-30. Laredo Lemurs RHP Matt Sergey is this week’s Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week. Sergey tossed a complete game, one-hit shutout against the Grand Prairie Airhogs on Tuesday. Alas, Sergey and the Lemurs did not play in Winnipeg this season, so the ubiquitous Lemurs logo will have to suffice!

Digital Gum Wave 3: The Kansas City T-Bones

Had three games worth of shots for these, so quite a few more players in this set. Vladamir Frias was on the disabled list, so a dugout shot will have to do. Went for the T-Bone steak hat instead of the swinging steer, which they usually use in their road games.

Bobby Doran, Kansas City T-Bones

With an 8-2 record on the season so far, pitcher Bobby Doran is one of the reasons Kansas City is tightening its grip on a wildcard spot in the American Association.

Jake Blackwood, Kansas City T-Bones

Congratulations to Kansas City T-Bone and former Goldeye Jake Blackwood, who recorded his 1,000th career hit with an RBI single tonight. The T-Bones took both games in their double header with Joplin, winning 5-3 and 7-3, and seem to have tightened their stranglehold on the wildcard spot. What began as a pitching duel between new Goldeyes slinger Edwin Carl and the T-Bones 10-2 Bobby Doran ended in a ninth inning heartbreaker for the Goldeyes. Final Score: T-Bones 2, Fish 1. Fish tenderize Beef in Game 1

In what promises to be a series chock full of food metaphors, the Kansas City T-Bones are in Winnipeg for a three game series. The Goldeyes handed the T-Bones a 7-1 loss thanks to solid pitching from Coby Cowgill and some nice work at the plate throughout the batting order.
